Dear Diary Friday...
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!!
Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise
was manufactured in England.
In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the
condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico.
But as we know....the great ship did not make it to New
York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank and the cargo was forever lost..The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery were disconsolate at the loss.
Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National
Day of Mourning which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th....and is known....of course....as Sinko de Mayo.

Dear Diary Thursday, part two...
Now, keep in mind that it had been three weeks before I started back to the gym THIS WEEK. Went tonight and did 20 minutes on my elliptical, keeping it at 120 rotations, then I did 100 crunches with 7.5 lbs of weight and 15 with 20lbs (wanted to see if I could do that much) then I did 400 regular crunches, 3 sets of 10 on the chest fly machine, 3 sets of 10 on the chest crunch machine, and 3 sets of 10 on the leg crunch machine ( the same one that I blew my knee cap out on) and I feel GREAT! It was an intense work out, but very, very satisfying. I am now home, tired, but doing laundry and deciding if I am going to paint my nails or not. When did I become such a girl????'
Work was busy and I did not accomplish as much as I wanted to. I did accomplish quite a bit, just not in the areas that I wanted to focus. I am only at work for 4 hours tomorrow, but I think I can focus my energy on those other areas.
I don't think I can express enough, or often enough, how much I love Chet and Shane. They both kept me entertained at work today, and much of this week. Shane is going to be teaching me how to do a "home book" and I am very excited about that.
Oh, speaking of excited, you should have seen Toni today getting all bent because of the rain. I even heard her CHANTING to the clouds to make the rain quit falling. Gawd, I love that woman!
And I am feeling a pull on my energy, like somebody is needing some positive energy work. Whomever it is, know that my energy is there for you to use and help you in anyway possible.
Dear Diary Thursday...
Okay, we are waiting on the class until Fall....too much is going on with everyone right now!
I managed, on Monday, to pull some chest muscles with one of the works out that I did and it gave me the feeling of "heart flutters" all day Tuesday and Wednesday. I was so worried yesterday that I was having a heart attack until it dawned on me what I had done. I slept with a heating pad on my chest yesterday and today, I'm just fine. Gawd, it is fun getting old and worrying about shit like that.
Yesterday was an absolute day from hell at work. Our computer systems went down twice AND I had clients walking around....fun combination. Plus, I had to "babysit" people and find them things to do when they were not working. I don't get paid enough to babysit.
Today is going to be busy just because I have picked up some extra projects to do that need to be completed so I will have less to worry about. Then, I am leaving and going to tan (less minutes this time), then going to the gym, then I am going home and doing all of my laundry and some cleaning. I am hoping that I will not only not have work on the brain this weekend, but I won't have home on the brain either. And it looks like I might have the chance to stop over and see the Chet/Shane residence with their new backyard! I am so excited about that.

Dear Diary Tuesday...
Yes, I am burned, but I can handle it. I was in the tanning bed for only 8 minutes and I have managed to burn my back and my ass. I am living with aloe vera right now just because I don't want to blister or peel. And yes, I will be going back because I bought A PASS!
Work was good today. Toni talked me into leaving for a full hour and getting Souper Salad for lunch, which was really yummy. I accomplished everything that I planned on doing, plus more again.
Tonight is the last night of class and I am actually kind of relieved...just because when I am use to going to bed earlier than 9:00 pm it makes Tuesdays hard. Other than that, it has been a really fun experience that I would love to continue. Now to figure out what class to take. Toni and I are discussing the "Ghost hunting" class.....but still not sure. Will post more on that when we decide.

Dear Diary Monday...
The workout has begun! I left work today and hit the place where I am tanning, then headed for the gym. I was surprised that after 3 weeks of not being in a regime, that I was still in pretty good shape. I did 30 minutes of hard and fast walking on the treadmill, then did 300 crunches, then 5 minutes on the incumbent stair stepper and then 5 minutes on the arm machine....all in all I did 55 minutes for my first day back and it felt WONDERFUL! I then headed to get the grocery shopping completed and just had dinner, which my eyes were much bigger than my stomach because I ate about 1/8 of what was on my plate. Ah, the joys of a shrinking stomach.
Work was wonderful and I accomplished absolutely everything that I intended to do, plus picked up a couple of extra projects that I also finished. Tomorrow I am starting off my day with getting the mail completed, my faxes, and then a HUGE project I took on to do when I have the time...I plan on completing it tomorrow. I believe my goal of getting work off of my mind so that I can enjoy my weekend is actually going to work!
Tomorrow is my gym day and then last day of class with Tonster....if she is up to it. She has been busting her ass every single day at work and then after work. Poor chica looked absolutely tired today. Much energy to you Toni!

Dear Diary Sunday...
The surgery for my Daddy on Friday went very, very well. The doctor predicts he should have almost perfect eye sight within a few days. After I brought him home, I went and got a steam cleaner and we steam cleaned all of the carpets, the upholstery, and rearranged the furniture. It was an all day adventure, I was totally exhausted afterwards, but well worth it.....and let me share with you why. My Mom has quit smoking! I believe she started smoking when she was about 10, and if you know my Mom, she is quite the heavy smoker. I believe this last bout of sickness made her decide to change. And with my choice of being a healthier person who has control of her life (i.e. joining Weight Watchers) it motivated her to take control of her life. Therefore, the steam cleaning was getting out the smell of the smoke...the house smells WONDERFUL.
Saturday was my weight in and then Dylan and I got together. We went to Wild Oats, Furburbia, and then hung out with Chet and Shane's realtor, Levi, for awhile, looking at a beautiful lay out of a home that the people who purchased it painted the most GOD AWFUL color of buttercup yellow through THE WHOLE HOUSE. Well, I looked past the horrid color and saw a wonderful home. We'll see what happens from here. However, thank you again to Chet and Shane for introducing us to Levi because he is AMAZING! Then, Dylan and I went to dinner and then back to his house to watch Lewis Black, who is probably the funniest man alive.
Today has been a day of rest. I have been letting some issues at work bother me the last couple of weeks, so I am going to be killing myself to get everything and anything done so that this upcoming three day weekend is one of fun and rest. Not exactly sure what I am going to have planned for the weekend, but I want it to be one where I can focus on the people that I am with, and not what is going on at work. I do know that I want to see "The Day After Tomorrow".....and the sooner the better!
