Dear Diary Friday...

Oh, thank the Goddess it is Friday!  I woke up in a fantastic mood....much to good to be at work.  However, I am here and busting out as much work as I can handle.

Had a great night sleep, with Alistair in our bed and being good.  No biting, no scratching, just sleeping like a good cat should.  He has taken up sleeping right in between Dylan and I, which I find to be adorable.  And yes, his name is now Alistair and not Al....Dylan has finally had the chance to name the cat and he, of course, named him after Alistair Crowley.  Don't know who Alistair Crowley is....look him upon the Internet.....pretty amusing epecially since I am Wiccan....but I love Dylan enough to allow him this.

This weekend is going to be awesome.  I am looking forward to every moment of spending my first weekend REALLY in the house and time with Dylan not involving moving a whole bunch of stuff.  We still have my office to move over to our place, but that will probably take a grand total of 30 minutes.

I am trying to decide what to do for the birthday this year.  I was thinking of maybe just a casual get together at the house with alcohol, but we will see.  Any suggestions?  Feel free to e-mail me!

Dear Diary Thursday, part two...the rant.....

I have to unload. There is nothing that upsets me more than people that use the fact that they have CHILDREN as an excuse for EVERYTHING. They have children therefore they should get a 1) special schedule, 2) should always be allowed to leave early, 3) should always be allowed to come into work late, 4) should always be allowed to have time off. The reasons are various...the child is sick, they don't have a babysitter, they have doctor/dentist appointments, they have after school activities, they have during school activities, they have sports events, etc, etc, etc. The issue is that these people with children ABUSE their rights of being a parent. The fact that they have children should not interfere with my work schedule. They should not be catered too and given special privleges. If I was to call in for a day off because I had a sick animal, I would be openly mocked. If I missed a lot of time because of sick animals, I would be receive a verbal warning and written warnings. I would not be allowed to change my schedule because of an animal. Why is there a difference? Why do certain people with children get away with disrupting the work of every other person on their team? Why do those of that make an effort to be here every day, be here on time, put in extra hours get punished for this?

I will get off my soap box now....

Dear Diary Thursday...

Is it just me, or does everybody hate that feeling of when you climb out of bed in the morning and you just know that you are getting sick? I have a headache and my nose won't stop. I know the headache is due to the cloud cover outside, but the nose is a cold.....just a good old fashioned cold. At least I am getting it on the weekend so I can be miserable at home instead of at work. I will be doing everything in my power to stop it....like going to get a Cold Warrior at the Jamba Juice today.

I had a wonderful evening last night. I went home and cleaned like a crazy woman and then Dee came over and hung out for a couple of hours. I am so excited that she and her family are going to be doing the walk for the American Cancer Society but I am not so excited for her since it is all night at the Gallivan Center. However, it is a very worthy cause and bless her and her family for being involved.

Tonight I am doing my usual....going to the gym and then I am going to do some yardwork if I feel up to it. Dylan is home today and is completing his move. He has all of his clothes and a few more possessions to bring over and then he should be finished....thank goodness. We have already planned out our weekend to involve NO moving.

Dear Diary Wednesday...

So far this week is dragging....and not because I have been so busy. I am actually so bored at the house that I am finding things to do. It has been cleaned, dusted, vacuumed, the yard has been watered, I have gone to the gym every night....you name it. I am so grateful that Dylan has got us scheduled to have a phone, the cable, and our internet all installed by Monday. Thankfully, Alfred the cat has kept me entertained, as have the parents. And thankfully, tonight is the last night for Dylan to work his schedule so he can entertain me for the remainder of the week and the weekend. The good part of having all this extra time is that I have got a lot of reading done. I started and finished "Murphy's Boy" and am now reading "Girl interrupted"....both excellent books.

Tonight I plan on going to the gym and then doing weeding in the yard and some cultivating. The yard was well maintained by the previous owners, but they did not have the ability to kneel down and get the weeds out because of their backs, so I will be doing that tonight. Also, the gym that I am going to is now going to be sponsoring a Farmer's Market every Wednesday, so I am pretty excited about that.

This weekend is shaping up nicely. We were informed that Betty and Melvin, two more cats, will be waiting for us at Furburbia on Friday to bring home. Saturday, Dylan and I are planning on NOT doing anything that is related to moving into the house and maybe going and having some fun. Sunday, Dylan starts his schedule for the week of working nights, so he is actually going to be home during the day. I am going to go shopping with my mom and then I have him all afternoon. The bad part is that I am going to be sleeping in that house all by myself this week....and that makes me sad. Good part is that I will have three guard cats to keep my company.

I also have some idea of what I want to be doing this next couple of weeks. I need to pick up some white paint and do some touch ups on my bedroom and I am thinking of stenciling some kind of border in the extra bedroom. I also want to pick up some plants and planters to decorate the huge patio we have...oh, and bring my herbs from the folks house to my house. Keep your eyes out for sales folks!!!

Dear Diary Monday...

It is official....I am moved into the new home AND staying there at nights. The folks, my brother, and Dylan moved all of my stuff over on Saturday...most of the trips were my shoes. It was wonderful to be able to actually go to bed with Dylan and not have to have him run me home to go to bed. I know it sounds odd, but Saturday when we were driving around and getting groceries and stuff, it finally hit me what we are a COUPLE...and I did not freak out or hyperventilate. It was actually exciting and comforting at the same time.

Saturday after moving and stuff, Dylan and I headed over to Connie's for Lindi's surprise birthday party and to pick up our new addition....Al the Cat. He is absolutely beautiful and has become a part of the family VERY quickly. It was great to see Connie, Lindi, Sarah, and Connie's sister Denise....who was an inspiration for me to join Weight Watchers and has been such a great support. After negotiating the cat out of Connie's sofa, we went home and crashed.

Yesterday I did more grocery shopping with the folks, some cleaning and laundry, and then headed to my nieces for a double birthday party. It was fun seeing all of my family and I found out that my youngest niece, Mallory, is a protege of John Robert Powers modeling agency and has a SECOND call back for an audition for a new children's show....she is so excited that she is hard to be around. Hopefully her head will go down a little bit because she was getting a little too big for her britches and I almost had to slap her.

All in all, this house moving experience has been a total positive one. It has been so awesome to see the excitement in everyone elses faces and the attitudes have helped out so much. I have been so blessed by the people in my life.
