Dear Diary Sunday...

The weekend is almost over, and I don't think I could be more happy. Not that I did not enjoy spending time with Dylan and his family, but I don't handle death very well, not even of somebody that I truly dislike.

Friday Dylan and I spent the day going to Thanksgiving Point, seeing "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", going to dinner, and just hanging out. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing special, just very nice being together.

Saturday, we spent the day at the viewing of funeral of his deceased grandmother. Now, if you have ever heard Dylan speak of "Crazy Grandma" or "Dorothy"....this is the person that passed. Not many tears were shed, but those that did shed them, it was hard to watch. Listening to the stories of how she used to be, when she was full of happiness, full of life, was also very hard to listen to, especially when you knew how she "really was." However, it was nice to be there to support the family, to let them know I care. Unfortunately, the heat was unbearable, as was my headache. It was one of those that is bad enough to be annoying, but not bad enough to go into a migraine.

Today I am spending my time getting my laundry done, doing the deep cleaning on the house, and then later this afternoon, driving the folks over to my sister's for a bbq for my niece. Again, not too exciting and I can think of a million things I would rather be doing than going to my sisters.

As I read this, I can see I am needing some time to myself....to regain some energy. Not that my time with my family and friends has not been immensly enjoyed and desired, but I am running from myself, from my sadness. Time to face the inevitable of the upcoming weeks and learn to deal with it and enjoy it. I guess witches don't like turning 33. Mostly, I am just not looking forward to what this month has become...an anniversary of death.

Looking forward to next weekend. I have no plans and do not intend on making any. The most I think I will be doing is bbqing.....which I love to do. I think I am going to try and roast a whole chicken, since I have herbs growing out my ears!!
