Dear Diary Thursday....

Another Thanksgiving is over....and I am happy. It was nice having all of the family over, but Thanksgiving at my house always starts with the morning ritual of preparing the bird, which is the morning ritual of my mom being a bitch. She is condescending and rude....and then wonders the rest of the day as she is sulking, why I don't want to speak to her. Needless to say, everyone had a wonderful time this year, but my mom, who is still sulking. Now, go ahead and ask if I feel bad. That would be NO.

Anyways, the siblings came together and we had a great time. I would say that this years bird was the best I have done....absolutely the most moist. Everything turned out perfect except my green beans, which was okay because we had TOO much food. Barb, Tammy, and I "pre-gamed" by eating a blue cheese dip that I made and a spinach/artichoke dip that Tammy made. By the time it was dinner time, Barb and I were so gorged that we actually ended the evening with being sick. I am STILL feeling the effects of it. I was hoping that this would go away, but nooooooo.

So, now I am doing laundry. I am getting everything done before my weekend begins, which has already shaped up nicely. Tomorrow and Saturday Dylan and I are spending with only each other....going to see a movie, going to rent some movies, and doing a lot of Christmas shopping/looking. Then Sunday, I am doing a whole bunch of NOTHING....and looking forward to it.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dear Diary Wednesday....

Had the day off today to get ready for T-day. Spent the day cleaning and doing my nails, oh, and I finally got to take a nap!!! Yep, you are old when you look forward to naps.

My dad's eye appointment went well. He has secondary cataracts in both eyes that they will be removing in January. Easy, easy process....the laser treatment takes less than 5 minutes per eye....no anesthesia.

Last night Dylan and I went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra and we had a blast! We laughed inappopriately when we saw folks "rockin" out and the cheesy maneuvers of the folks on stage. Neither one of us had any idea we were attending a "Christian Rock" show, but we had a great time together.

Saturday we saw Static X with 100 of our closest friends....literally. The turn out was sad, most likely due to the weather. Regardless, it was the best concert I have seen EVER. I loved ever minute of it.

Well, I will try and blog again this weekend. Until then....HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!
