Dear Diary Monday....

What a weird few days! I have been fighting an ear infection for about four weeks, and it finally go the best of me last Thursday. After suffering to the point of tears, Dylan and I headed over to the Afterhour Care by my house. We met the nicest MD who gave me a whole bunch of drugs.....evil antibiotic/steroid combination, heavy dosage antibiotic, ear drop antibiotics, and then painkillers. Good news is I think the infection is gone, bad news is that the damn steroid made me even more mean than I normally am AND I could not be more happier that I am finished with them!

Friday, I got home from work and the drugs had officially kicked my ass and started to hurt my back. We went to dinner but I was so miserable that we ended up calling it an early night and headed home. I took a hot bath, spent the night on a heating pad and got up feeling MUCH better....unfortunately for Dylan because then we spent the entire Saturday cleaning and decorating and re-arranging furniture AND cleaning carpets.

Sunday, we relaxed. We kept our PJ's on all day, got a couple of movies, and just vegged. I know damn well that this coming up weekend is going to be our Christmas shopping extravaganza/nightmare, so I thought we best take one day to relax this month.

Bad news on the Parent front....my Mom's rotator cuff is only getting worse and worse and worse. She is now to the point she is in pain all the time and can hardly lift her arm. She is trying to tough it out so we can get through the holidays and so I can take time off to help her, but I am not sure it is going to happen. I am going to make a conscious effort to spend a bit more time over there, stop by every day, and just do what I can around the house and the yard to help her out. My brother and Dad have been great, but you know how it is when you are an independent person....you hate other people helping and they usually are more in the way than anything else. I am taking them Christmas shopping again on Wednesday, so I am hoping getting her out of the house for a few hours will help her attitude.

Happy Monday to everyone, and please do not forget that Toni's Birthday is tomorrow!!!!!!
