Dear Diary Friday...

Let me just start by saying that I probably will not blog before Christmas so....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

That being said, I am doing everything I can to leave work early. By 8:00 am this morning I will be officially on over time, so I don't think they will have a problem sending me home. Dylan is spending the day cleaning the house and I would like to get home and help him out and then get ready to finish some Christmas shopping AND then go to the Festivus at Michelle and Jer's place....where I do not plan on drinking myself into oblivion since I will be getting up early tomorrow to go deliver wreaths to the cemetaries with my Daddy.

Today I am planning on a calm day.....planning on it. I was here late last night getting every problem taken care of. Pray for me that it will be a calm day....pray hard.....

And big THANK YOU out to Toni for the lovely message she left wishing me a Merry Winter Solstice......right back atcha Mama!

Dear Diary Thursday...

Sitting at work, being insanely busy when I get a call from my hubby...."Honey, I need some advice....Helga just came in from outside playing with Coal and she is leaving bloody footprints all over the house."
"Oh", I respond..."Have you looked at her foot?"
"Yes," he responds, "But I am not sure what the problem is"

So, I call my mom to go over and look...her analysis is that Helga probably stepped on some ice and cut in between her toes.

I make it home to find little tiny blood spots all over the carpet. I got them all cleaned up...no problem, and then grabbed Helga to analyze the situation myself. Poor Helga!! She broke a toenail right in half down to the quik which has caused her to bleed! I called the vet and, of course, there is nothing that they can do because it is the equivalent of us cutting our nails to short. SOOOOO, on doctors advice I packed it full of flour and she is bleeding NO MORE! Poor, poor Helga.....

Dear Diary Wednesday...

It has been insanely busy for Dylan and I for the last few weeks.....and I am probably being delicate with that statement. We have spent every waking moment getting ready for Christmas.....decorating, shopping, family stuff, you name it. As much as I am trying to enjoy Christmas this year, I am spending much more time trying to make it a great Christmas for family, and I will be happy when it is over. Just to give you an idea of how busy things are right now, I have wrapped gifts every night so far this week after work, and will be doing it again tonight. Tomorrow night Dylan and I are finishing up our shopping, Friday is a get together, Saturday I am delivering wreaths to the cemetary, Sunday cleaning the house and delivering gifts, and then Monday is Christmas.

Yesterday was our company party and we had a wonderful lunch served to us and received a $50.00 Visa card. Tomorrow we are having a potluck in our area and exchanging gifts and, as luck would have it, I drew the name of my boss!! Thankfully he is a really healthy guy so I got him a huge container from Western Nut Company.

Great news for Connie, and I could not be more happy, she has a job at ADP and I have a new friend at Apple One! Connie will do incredibly well in her new position and I wish her all of the best in it....they are lucky to have her on their team.
