Here we go again...
Okay, so my dad has been sick lately. First, it was a cold...dry hacking cough that persisted for two weeks mingled with a runny nose. Well, last weekend, after dealing with everybody at my working getting the flu, he started to feel crappy on Sunday. So, it just got progressively worse and worse to the point that we spent yesterday in the emergency room. I got home from work and he looked soooooo bad that I was scared out of my mind, but as always, kept my cool and told him we were going to the emergency room and I received NO fight back, which is a good indicator that he was in pretty bad shape. Called Dylan to cancel our evening together and headed down to the ER. They took him in and started an IV and come to find out, he has also been experiencing CHEST PAINS and hasn't bothered to tell us! So the total of his ailments are nausea (had been vomitting since Sunday night), horrible stomache pains and stomache cramping, chest pains, wheezing, and shortness of breath. They took countless vials of blood, ran a heart test, ran some x-rays, made him drink the icky barrium, and did a CAT of the abdomen because he had such a huge pocket of gas that they could see it in the x-ray. After being in the ER from 5:30 pm until 1:00am we find out that he is in good shape other than a horrible virus that is going around and he will probaby be feeling crappy for a couple of weeks. Well, now we have a doctor appointment (follow up) with his primary care on Friday. God, what a fun night. However, the shining part of the evening is that Dylan threw aside his commitment of receiving an award for his work and getting to go to Boca di Bepo and hanging out with me and my sisters in the ER after I told him not to come down and to go to his dinner. Now, if that is not a cool fiancee, I don't know what is. I actually had to tell him to go home at 8:00 because I knew it was going to be a long night. And thanks to Toni for just being such a great and worried friend. Oh, and if you would like to hear the total effects of playing football, ask Toni about Rob.....
Anyways, I stayed home from work today to take care of him as he is so weak from not eating that he stumbles. We got a couple of prescriptions to take care of him and he has had a little more to eat than the last few days, so I feel a bit better. And I have learned a lot from this experience AGAIN that you don't wait until you are at death's door to go to the doctor............
So, how is everybody else doing????
Oh, the bad voices....
W H A T E V E R ! ! !
