Dear Diary Thursday,
I see a light at the end of the tunnel! Spooky threw up just a little yesterday and just a bit this morning, but he is showing signs of being interested in food. He will walk up to the food, smell it, sit for a minute and then walk away. I know he is still nauseated but he is hungry.
Part of the throwing up yesterday was completely my fault. I gave him three bites of food (force fed) and then let him sit for an hour. I then gave him three more bites, let him sit for 45 minutes. I should have stopped there but instead, I decided to force 4 more bites and that was just too much for his little tummy. So, this morning he got three bites of food and I left him alone all morning and he was fine. When I get home tonight, I will do the same thing....three bites of food and then leave him alone. And he looked SO good this morning. He had cleaned himself up, was a bit more feisty, wanted me to love him a lot and purred, and just was completely a different cat. Tomorrow, I may go ahead and let him out of his seclusion to be with the other cats and see how that goes because he should no longer be contagious, if he was ever contagious.
Tonight I am taking my Mom to get all of her shopping done. We have to hit Petsmart, Costco, AND Wally-world. And in the midst of that, we are going to look around to see who has flu shots so we can get my folks and myself taken care of this year. I don't care what it takes from me, I am going to get a flu shot, and if possible, a tetanus shot by the end of this year. I am tird of being sick!!!! Hmmm....maybe the fear of needles is going away as I get older.
Oh, the bad voices....

Dear Diary Wednesday....
Oh god, it was a loooooonnnnngggg night!
I got home to take Spooky to the vet. They did x-rays and he looked fine, other than he was vomitting and had horrible diarrhea. He got a shot of anti-diarheal and I got to bring some meds home. Then all hell broke out.
After a couple of hours, I had him in his own room with food, water, and a litterbox, which he decided to use. That is when I saw all of the blood. So, I packed him up and grabbed my Mom and we headed to Central...for an allnighter. They did a full blood work up on him, more fecal smears, an IV, and everything else you can imagine. What we finally found out....NOTHING! His blood work came back PERFECT, he has no bacteria, no infection....NOTHING! So he got another shot, some more anti-diarheal, something else, and we headed home. Now I have to go home, see if he has quit vomitting, and if he has not, we are going to the vet AGAIN for another x-ray. The good news is that they think he has "feline flu" which just takes its own time to work its' way out of him. The bad news is that in less than 24 hours I almost spent $800 on that cat!!!!
Oh, and have I said how tired I am at this point.....

Dear Diary Tuesday...
I think my Spooky is sick! He was acting a bit strange this morning, and right before I left, he decided to go and hide himself in our office, away from the other cats...usually a good indicator that he is not feeling well. YAY, another trip to the vet! WOO HOO!
I have Friday off, and I could not be more happy. Dylan and I are going to try and make up some time with each other for the shitty vacation we had. Not exactly sure what we are doing, and at this point I don't even care, but we are going to do everything we can just to have some FUN!
Oh, speaking of vets, it looks like the Rimadyl that Coal is on is actually helping him! He is not the best at taking the pill, but he is not limping, favoring his leg, nothing. I am hoping we can keep him on this for a couple of months and then do the surgery. I'm not looking forward to my baby having surgery....I am such a worry-wart Mom!

Dear Diary Monday,
The weekend was good. Friday, Dylan and I met up with the Netzlers' at the Olive Garden for dinner. Good friends, good times! We then headed home so he could get a couple of more hours of sleep before heading in for his O.T. Saturday I spent the day with the Folks and went to The King's English Bookshop, Trolley Square, and The Store and then headed home because it was just too yucky to play outside anymore. Sunday I ended up cleaning the entire basement, getting all the laundry caught up, mowing the yard, and just general duties around the house.....I had a bug to clean and got it out of my system! I then made dinner of salad, spaghetti squash, and parmesean crusted tilapia. All in all, it was a good weekend.
I have decided to take this Friday off of work so that Dylan and I can have some time together as a couple. I am not sure what we are going to do, but as long as we are together, that is all I really care about.
Oh, and I have decided not to decorate as mucht his year for Halloween as I have done in the past....just not in the mood to put it all away, as that is my biggest gripe.
And big love and hugs out to Alana with the passing of her Grandmother. My prayers are with you and your family at this time.
