Dear Diary Wednesday...

YAY! My four and half day vacation is almost here! I am only working a half day today so I am hoping to be out of here sometime around 11:00...and won't be back until Monday. I am taking the time off MOSTLY because I need an attitude adjustment, but also because Dylan took the time off to spend with me since...and that was pretty darn nice.

Today, after I get home from a little bit of shopping, I am going to put on my new silk pj's and relax the whole afternoon. Oh, except for the small part where I am going to clean up the back yard AND straighten up the kitchen AND make dinner....which is going to be something very, very simple. I am just looking forward to being able to lie on the couch, watch some t.v., maybe take a small nap....just stupid little things that I enjoy ever so much.

Speaking of little things, I have been catching myself lately REALLY enjoying small things that I don't think I acknowledged before. One of them was seeing two robins on a pile of dirty snow....it made me so happy because that means Spring is on it's way. I caught myself listening to the sound of a little kid playing with his dog and laughing....and I smiled (which is odd since I hate children). And my favorite thing right now, the sound of Melvin yodeling to come into the room you are in with the door closed. Now, for most, this would be an obnoxious and irritating sound...but to me, he is telling me he wants to be close to me and misses me...even though he just saw me two seconds ago. God, I am obviously getting old....

Oh, and since I probably won't be blogging until next week, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
